Abdulmalik Juma Baitairi, a senior officer at the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), left his friends and family in shock after his untimely death on August 18, 2020.

Just a day before his birthday, Abdulmalik's life came to an abrupt end, leaving many to wonder if his Facebook post in August 2019 had been a premonition.

On August 19, 2019, Abdulmalik shared a post on Facebook, joking about possibly dying in the same month. He wrote, 'August means a lot to me. It's the month I was born, it's the month I lost my foreskin to a descendant of Kauruo, it's the month I joined University, it's the month I…. It's the month I…. Probably maybe the month I will die! Who knows! Hail the month of the King! Hail the month of MûTiania mûtûra nyoongo mûratirri na mûtambûra ngerima!'

Fast forward to August 3, 2020, Abdulmalik shared another post, saying, 'August is the month I was born. Most good things in my life happen in this month. Yaani Kuna vile August inakuwanga real for me!'

Tragically, his life was cut short just 15 days later, leaving behind a trail of condolences from his friends and family.

As Kenyans mourned his loss, many took to social media to share their memories of Abdulmalik, with some even calling his Facebook post a premonition.

Abdulmalik was laid to rest on Friday, August 21, 2020.
