Former Garsen MP Danson Mungatana and businessman Paul Collins Waweru are set to face theft charges worth Sh1.96m on Wednesday.

Published on August 21, 2020, at 6:41 PM.

Mungatana and Waweru had asked the court to allow them to settle the case out of court, but the court has already been presented with a draft agreement to dismiss the case against them.

According to the agreement, the two will pay the Sh1.96m to the complainants, and the court will then dismiss the case.

However, the prosecution led by Nancy Kerubo has opposed the request, stating that the case is of great public interest.

Mungatana and Waweru have denied the allegations that they stole Sh930,000 from complainant Cynthia Mukami Kamau, claiming that they were only helping her to secure a tender with the military through their company, Beni Trading Ltd.
