On Thursday, Google's Gmail and several other applications experienced a global outage, affecting users worldwide.
According to Google, the company was aware of the issue and was working to understand its cause.
‘Our team is continuing to investigate this issue. We will provide an update by 8/20/20, 11:21 AM with more information about this problem. Thank you for your patience. Gmail sending issues, Meet recording issues, Creating files issues in Drive, CSV user upload issues in Admin Console, Posting message issues in Google Chat,’ Google wrote.
Users reported various issues, including being unable to log-in to their Gmail accounts, new emails not showing up in the app, and difficulties uploading new files to the cloud.
Third-party web monitoring firm DownDetector confirmed the outage, which began around 04:40 GMT.
Users took to Twitter to express their frustration, with some joking about the outage and others seeking help.
