Published on August 20, 2020, Nyota Ndogo, a popular Mombasa-based singer, has expressed her discontent with bloggers who refer to her Danish husband, Henning Nielsen, as 'Mzungu'.
According to Nyota Ndogo, the term 'Mzungu' is derogatory and reduces her husband to his skin color, which she believes is a form of racism.
She took to her Instagram page to express her frustration, asking bloggers to refrain from using the term and instead refer to her and her husband as 'Nyota Ndogo and her husband'.
She argued that Africans feel offended when referred to by their skin color, yet it's acceptable to refer to Caucasians by their skin color.
Recently, Nyota Ndogo opened up about her struggles to conceive with her husband, revealing that they have visited several doctors but have not been successful in having children yet.
