On August 1, Kenya reopened its skies to international flights after a three-month suspension, allowing only emergency and cargo operations.
As part of its efforts to curb the COVID-19 fallout, the government of Kenya has released a list of 130 countries exempted from quarantine on arrival in the country. These countries include the United States, except for California, Florida, and Texas.
According to the new guidelines, passengers from low to medium-risk countries who have a negative PCR-based COVID-19 test carried out within 96 hours before travel and do not exhibit flu-like symptoms will not be subject to mandatory quarantine.
Additionally, passengers arriving on flights after the curfew, with a valid boarding pass and air ticket, will be allowed to proceed to their residences.
The Ministry of Health will conduct a daily review of the countries from which travelers will not be required to be quarantined upon arrival.
