On August 20th, 2020, East African Breweries Limited (EABL) notified its shareholders that the company's 98th Annual General Meeting (AGM) would be held virtually on September 16th, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. East African time.
Registration for the AGM opened on August 18th, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. and closed on September 13th, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. East African time.
During the meeting, shareholders were expected to confirm the interim dividend of KSh 3.00 per ordinary share paid on April 17th, 2020, for the year ended June 30th, 2020.
Additionally, the meeting would consider the re-election of Carol Musyoka, Jimmy Mugerwa, and John O'Keeffe, who were retiring but had offered themselves for consideration for another term. Other directors up for re-appointment included Leo Breen and Risper Ohaga.
Shareholders would also approve the retention of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as the company's external auditors.
