On August 9, 2020, Bayern Munich celebrated a 4-1 win over Chelsea in the Champions League last 16, setting the stage for their quarter-final showdown against Barcelona in Lisbon.

Bayern's Robert Lewandowski netted twice, scoring his 12th and 13th goals in the Champions League this season. He played a key role in all four Bayern goals, showcasing his impressive form.

Bayern led 3-0 from the first leg at Stamford Bridge in February, before the coronavirus pandemic halted the competition. They progressed 7-1 on aggregate, a testament to their dominant performance.

David Alaba, Bayern's defender, expressed the team's confidence ahead of the Barcelona match, stating, 'The anticipation is enormous. Barcelona has a good team with very good players, but if you look at the last few weeks, we can fly to Portugal with a lot of confidence.'

Bayern's head coach, Hansi Flick, praised the team's performance, saying, 'I am really happy with how we played over the 90 minutes, the first 30 minutes we shut Chelsea out.'

Lewandowski's late header sealed the win for Bayern, capping off a world-class display from the Polish striker.
