Barcelona's Lionel Messi scored a stunning goal in the first half, weaving past three Napoli defenders before curling the ball into the far corner, as Barcelona beat Napoli 3-1 in the second leg to eliminate Napoli 4-2 on aggregate and set up a mouthwatering Champions League quarter-final clash against Bayern Munich who dumped out Chelsea.

Barcelona's coach Quique Setien had expressed doubts about his future at the helm, but the win against Napoli eases the pressure on him. However, a disjointed second half will not inspire confidence, even with Messi seemingly rejuvenated after three weeks rest.

Barcelona will have to improve significantly to match Bayern, who advanced after putting seven past Chelsea over two legs and are arguably favourites to win the tournament.

Barcelona's victory was sealed in the first half, with Messi scoring a stunning goal after a barnstorming run, and Luis Suarez scoring a penalty won by Messi. Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne gave Napoli hope just before the interval with his own spot-kick, but despite a nervy second period, Barcelona held on to win 3-1 on the night and 4-2 on aggregate.
