Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is optimistic about his team's chances against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last-16 second leg, citing it as an opportunity to do something special.
Speaking ahead of the match, Lampard emphasized the importance of believing in their ability to progress to the quarter-finals, stating, "I believe we can, otherwise I shouldn’t be here."
He added that the players must also believe in their ability to achieve a remarkable turnaround, saying, "We have to believe, more importantly, the players have to believe as they take on this game."
Despite the daunting task of overturning a 3-0 deficit, Lampard remained positive, saying, "Games have turned to big degrees, some famous games, great games, so we have to believe we have the opportunity to do something special."
However, Chelsea will be without several key players, including Cesar Azpilicueta, Christian Pulisic, and Pedro, who all picked up injuries in the FA Cup final defeat by Arsenal.
Midfielder Willian, who missed the FA Cup final, is also absent from the travelling squad, with his injury improving but not right for the game.
