At the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix, Mercedes' dominance was on full display as Lewis Hamilton set the pace in Saturday's final practice, with teammate Valtteri Bottas a close second.
Hamilton, the championship leader with a 30-point lead over Bottas, clocked a best lap in 1 minute and 26.621 seconds, leaving Bottas more than a tenth of a second behind.
McLaren's Lando Norris was third, over half a second behind the Mercedes duo, while the two Racing Point cars, driven by Lance Stroll and Nico Hulkenberg, were fourth and fifth respectively, despite controversy surrounding their legality.
Racing Point has announced its intention to appeal the stewards' verdict that their brake ducts are illegal, which resulted in a 15-point penalty and a €400,000 fine.
Four other teams, Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, and Williams, have also given notice of appeal, believing the sanctions to be too lenient.
Hamilton is seeking to claim his record-increasing 92nd pole position in qualifying later Saturday.
