On August 8, 2020, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe revealed a tragic incident where a man and his wife lost their lives due to Covid-19, a consequence of their son's refusal to self-isolate after testing positive for the virus.
The son, who believed the virus was a myth, traveled home to visit his parents despite being aware of his positive test results.
As a result, he infected his parents and sister, leading to the untimely demise of his mother and father, just two weeks after they had lost and buried their mother.
CS Kagwe expressed his concern over Kenyans' reaction to the government's daily warnings about the pandemic, stating that they had been accused of talking down to them.
He implored Kenyans to accept the reality of Covid-19, emphasizing that it is a condition that can be controlled and managed through self-isolation and adherence to medical advice.
