On a somber August 8, 2020, the community of Kwa Shee, Jomvu, gathered to bid farewell to Ramadhan Kajembe, the former Changamwe MP, who had passed away after a two-week hospitalization at Pandya Hospital.

According to eyewitnesses, the burial ceremony lasted a mere 30 minutes, with only a handful of speakers, including Kajembe's son Sudi and Coast Regional Coordinator John Elungata, taking to the podium to pay their respects.

As a precautionary measure against the COVID-19 pandemic, 10 health officials clad in white PPEs carried Kajembe's remains to the family cemetery, located 500 meters away from the family home.

Among the notable attendees at the funeral were Jomvu MP Badi Twalib, who is also Kajembe's son-in-law, and other family members, friends, and relatives who had converged at the family home to pay their last respects.
