On September 28, 2019, Subow, a woman leader, announced plans to name her son after Deputy President William Ruto during a rally in Tharaka Nithi County. She displayed her baby bump and told the residents to embrace the deputy president in 2022, stating, 'Ruto ametosha. Mtoto ataitwa Ruto.' (Ruto suffices. When I deliver my child, he will be named after him).

Fast forward to early 2020, Subow delivered a bouncing baby boy, and women leaders from Inua Mama brigade celebrated the new mother at her home in Garissa County. Led by Chairperson Alice Wahome and Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirici, the group splashed gifts on Subow, hailing her as a 'pinnacle of strength for most women leaders.'

‘The event was a success, and we celebrated the new mother,' said a representative of the group. ‘Remember Subow walked the entire Inua Mama 2019 edition while expectant,' they added.

On November 27, 2022, President Uhuru Kenyatta urged women leaders to break their groups and join together to push for a better Kenya. However, defiant Alice Wahome stated that Inua Mama would continue empowering women socially and economically.
