Nation Media Vehicle Crushed in Road Accident ¶
On Friday evening, August 7, 2020, a Nation Media Group vehicle was involved in a grisly accident while carrying Saturday Nation newspapers for distribution to Kisii and Bomet.
According to a journalist aware of the incident, the driver was injured and rushed to Tenwek Hospital in Bomet, where he is undergoing treatment.
Photos of the scene showed the crushed vehicle surrounded by copies of the Saturday Nation newspaper scattered on the ground.
The accident occurred just a week after Nation Media Group unveiled a new look for its newspapers as well as a digital-first strategy to news publishing.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Nation Media Group Editorial Director Mutuma Mathiu stated that the brand was expanding to serve its pan-African audience.
“We have correspondents in most countries in Africa who serve news directly to us. The new site will be rolled out in the next few weeks,” he explained.
