On August 8, 2020, Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper Democratic Movement, called on Senators to engage in dialogue to resolve the revenue sharing formula impasse.

Speaking at the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation offices in Karen, Kalonzo emphasized the importance of equity in resource distribution, as guaranteed by the 2010 Constitution.

He warned that intolerance is the worst form of dictatorship and urged Senate leaders to embrace dialogue to find a solution.

Kalonzo also emphasized the need to increase the share of the equalization fund to compensate those who might lose money in the final agreed formula.

He further urged for the speedy enactment of subsidiary legislation on the equalization fund to increase funds from the current 0.5%.

On COVID-19, Kalonzo urged Kenyans not to stigmatize those who have been infected and have survived the virus but rather celebrate and encourage them.
