On the outskirts of Nairobi, in Ruiru town, lies a building shrouded in mystery and terrorized by the local community. The structure has been vacant for more than 30 years, a testament to the enduring fear of jini infestation.

According to area residents, tenants who have attempted to occupy the building have been forced to flee after being attacked by the jinis. The once-grand building now stands as a testament to the power of fear, its dusty and broken windows a stark contrast to its former glory.

Locals claim that the building has been linked to jinis for many years, with some even suggesting that the structure is home to dark forces. Area Chief George Mwaura echoed these sentiments, stating, 'The building has been vacant for more than 30 years and unconfirmed reports indicate that there are dark forces inside it.' He added, 'I usually pass there and I have never seen anyone.'

Patrick Kinyanjui, a boda boda rider who used to visit the building as a child, shared his own experiences with The Nairobian. He recalled how his friends who lived in the building would tell him about being beaten at night by jinis and waking up outside in the morning. Kinyanjui also shared stories of women being raped by unseen individuals.

Despite the building's reputation, some individuals have attempted to occupy it. Recently, a group of Nigerians expressed interest in renting the property, but were advised against it. The building has since been converted into a store, with a watchman manning the gate 24 hours a day.

Residents continue to speculate about the building's alleged evil spirits, with some attributing their misfortunes to the structure. Pastor Meshack Okwomi of Temple of Light and Healing Ministry believes that the building should be cleansed through prayers to cast out the evil spirits.
