On August 8, 2020, Governor Kinyanjui was nominated for the Business-Friendly Governor of the Year award, an accolade recognizing governors who contribute to economic growth in Africa.

The award, issued by the African Leadership Magazine, aims to identify governors who drive investment and increase commercial activities in their regions.

According to the magazine, the winner will be decided through a voting process that ends on August 10, 2020.

Ben Ayade, the governor of Cross Rivers State in South Africa, and David Makhura, the Prime Minister of Gauteng Province in South Africa, are also nominated for the award.

Ayade is known for his innovations towards the industrial revolution in his state, while Makhura is recognized for fighting unemployment in Gauteng.

Yesterday, social media users in Nakuru rallied Kenyans to vote for Kinyanjui through the African Leadership magazine's website.
