Former Changamwe MP Ramadhan Kajembe Dies of COVID-19

Former Changamwe MP Ramadhan Kajembe has succumbed to COVID-19 complications at the age of 76, barely two weeks after his wife died of the same illness.

According to reports, Kajembe was ailing during his wife's burial and was on oxygen supply, unable to attend the ceremony.

His close relatives had been admitted to the same hospital over a week ago, after his wife succumbed to COVID-19.

Leaders from the coastal region, led by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, have expressed their condolences on social media.

Kajembe served as Changamwe MP between 2007 and 2013 on an ODM Party ticket.

He will be buried at 7 pm at the Kajembe family cemetery in Changamwe, where his second wife, Mama Aziza Kajembe, was also buried two weeks ago.
