As the world celebrated Breastfeeding Week from August 1st to 7th, actress Sarah Hassan reflected on her own breastfeeding journey, revealing she was initially scared of the process.

Despite the numerous benefits of breastfeeding, which include providing the best nutrition for babies for the first six months and beyond, Sarah confessed that stories from fellow mothers left her apprehensive.

However, the actress has since been lucky enough to have exclusively breastfed her son for over a year, defying her initial fears.

According to the Kenya National Demographic and Health Survey, 61% of mothers of children under six months were breastfeeding exclusively, highlighting the importance of this practice.

On Instagram, Sarah shared her thoughts on breastfeeding, saying, “Breastfeeding was something I longed for but was seriously scared about after hearing and reading soooo many testaments from fellow super mamas. I’ve been lucky enough to have exclusively breastfed my little one for over a year now but one thing I was super scared about was not having enough milk or my milk drying out! Even though I had enough supply, I was still paranoid and it never hurts to just be prepared.”

Sarah and her husband Martin Dale tied the knot on February 25, 2017, in a private ceremony at Karura Forest in Nairobi, and welcomed their son two years later.
