On Friday, Kenya recorded 727 new COVID-19 cases out of a sample size of 6,814, bringing the cumulative number of positive cases to 25,138.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced the daily numbers, urging men to be vigilant in protecting themselves against the pandemic, as 539 of the new cases were male while 188 were female.
CS Kagwe also noted that 674 people had recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, with 125 of them being from home-based care and 549 from various health facilities in the country.
Unfortunately, the CS also reported that 14 people had lost their lives to COVID-19, bringing the cumulative number of fatalities to 413.
CS Kagwe urged all Kenyans to seek medical care for other diseases, saying, "Our health facilities are open to people with other diseases, not just COVID-19, we have separated the COVID-19 cases from other hospitalised people. Let’s not fear to seek medical care. So msiogope, endeni hospitalini kama mko na ugonjwa."
