On August 6, 2020, Yvonne Okwara resumed her duties at Citizen TV, leaving her fans excited after a few weeks of taking care of herself at home.
According to a post shared on her Instagram page, Okwara had been dealing with two slip discs in her lower spine, causing her excruciating, chronic pain for nearly two years.
Okwara, in a heartfelt post, revealed that she had been battling the condition and had tried various medications before opting for surgery to alleviate the pain.
She shared her experience, saying, "One day I'll write about what it's like living with chronic pain. Every day. Putting on a brave face at work, with friends and how it changes your life, the mind and how exhausting and limiting it is. Always lurking in the background as you try to go about with your life."
Okwara's return to TV was met with excitement from her fans, who had been missing her presence on screen.
Her confidence, talent, and black beauty made her a standout, and her absence was deeply felt.
