On a mission to support those in need, Mr. Abdullahi Bulle, a bookseller in Nairobi, has been offering free sanitary pads to ladies since February. The initiative, which started as a response to the challenges faced by schoolgirls accessing basic school shopping, including sanitary pads, has earned him praise and attracted more donors.

Speaking to Eve, Mr. Abdullahi explained that he started the program after encountering two schoolgirls stranded along Haile Selassie Avenue, who were struggling to access sanitary pads. This encounter sparked the idea of providing free sanitary pads at his shop, which he has been running since 2015.

Mr. Abdullahi, a former banker who quit his job in 2018 to venture into business, has been buying sanitary pads from dealers and receiving donations from well-wishers to support his initiative. His kind gesture has reached out to two local organizations in Kibera, Dada 4 Dadas and Agape Woman and Child Empowerment Foundation (awochegirls), and Farida Girls in Mathare.

Those who wish to support Mr. Abdullahi's initiative can reach him via email or on Twitter @nuriabooks.
