After a two-year absence from the screen, Jacque Maribe, a former Citizen TV news anchor, is making a comeback with a new online political show, the Hot Seat.
Maribe's return to the screen comes after she was charged with the murder of her boyfriend's ex-lover, Monica Kimani, in 2018. She was forced to resign from Citizen TV in July 2019 under unclear circumstances.
As part of her bail conditions, Maribe was barred from appearing on TV news programs, but she is free to engage with her audience on social media platforms.
The Hot Seat, which will be streamed on YouTube and Facebook, promises to tackle contemporary political issues through engaging interviews.
Maribe has spoken publicly about her ordeal, saying, 'You feel like that everything is falling in place and everything is making sense until one day you have no idea what the world decides to do, you are in a standstill.'
Produced by veteran producer Sarah Mwangi, the online show is expected to feature a mix of politics, entertainment, and lifestyle content.
Maribe's return to the screen has generated excitement among her fans, who are eager to see her tackle the country's most pressing issues.
