Published on August 7, 2020, a conversation on Classic 105's breakfast show highlighted the challenges faced by Kenyan men during the economic downturn.

Radio personality Mwalimu King'ang'i urged women to support their men, stating that 'maisha ni kusaidiana' (life is about helping each other). He emphasized the importance of bearing with their men during these tough times, saying, 'How can you throw out a man during these tough times?'

However, Maina Kageni disagreed, advising women not to give their men money. He argued that women should not enable their men's financial laziness, saying, 'Ladies NEVER give your men money because that is a bad habit.'

The conversation was sparked by a story about a Kenyan man, Zack Opondo, who was thrown out by the woman he was living with. The woman had hired goons to evict him, leaving him with only a small hand luggage.
