Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has reached out to ODM party leader Raila Odinga and Chief Justice David Maraga for help in resolving the leadership crisis in the county.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, August 6, 2020, Sonko accused 'dark forces in the system' of causing disharmony in the county.
He appealed to the Honourable Chief Justice, the Senate, and Hon. Raila Odinga to intervene in the crisis, saying, 'We need your urgent intervention and rich wisdom in this crisis, before the county cripples down and is taken away by selfish individuals.'
Sonko also accused Nairobi Metropolitan Services boss Mohammed Badi of conducting himself in a partisan political manner against the deed of transfer, which was meant to complement his administration.
He took issue with Interior CS Fred Matiang'i, who had accused MCAs of being armed with guns, and demanded that Matiang'i release the names of all 14 MCAs he claimed to have disarmed.
He also brought up the case of Mlango Kubwa MCA Patricia Mutheu, who was clobbered by police during chaos at the assembly last week.
