On a difficult day, Citizen TV presenter Willis Raburu found himself overcome with emotion as he recalled the loss of his daughter Adana, who was born still. It was a painful memory that he had tried to avoid, but it came flooding back when he went for a Covid-19 test at a Nairobi hospital in August 2020.
Speaking on Jessy Junction, Raburu revealed that the experience had been a trying time for him and his wife Marya Prude, who faced harsh criticism from people who didn't understand their situation. However, it was also a time when they discovered the true nature of their friends.
"It was a very trying time and talking about it sometimes makes me very emotional so I try not to, but you are advised to," Raburu said. "But for me, that's when you get to know your friends. That happened to us. It's something I think about every day," he added.
For Raburu, the loss of his daughter has been a continuous process of healing, and he has been open about his struggles. He emphasized the importance of therapy in coping with such a loss, saying, "I don't think people understand what that kind of loss does to you because I don't think there's any day that I don't get affected," he said.
