On August 7, 2020, Samsung Kenya's IM director, Charles Kimani, hinted at introducing a trade-in system for old phones in 2021.
The program, which has been operational in other markets, would allow eligible devices to be valued and the amount used as credit when purchasing a new Galaxy device.
According to the company's global website, the instant trade-in credit applies only to new Samsung devices, and the device must meet certain criteria, including powering on, holding a charge, and not powering off unexpectedly.
The trade-in system aims to provide a system for e-waste management, which is becoming a global issue.
