On Wednesday, Raila Odinga made a U-turn on the revenue sharing formula, stating that no county should lose funds. This decision has been welcomed by Elgeyo Marakwet senator, who sees it as a win-win situation.

According to Raila, he did not have all the details on the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) third basis formula when he initially supported it. He claimed to have just returned from treatment in Dubai at the time.

However, Raila's decision to support a win-win formula has been commended by Murkomen, who tweeted: 'I welcome Right Hon. @RailaOdinga's decision to support a Win -Win formula for county allocation revenue. This together with the earlier support and firm stand by HE @WilliamsRuto helps the country find solution.'

DP William Ruto had earlier expressed his support for a win-win formula, stating that the legislature must structure a formula that is sensitive to proposals made without hurting any county.

The senators have failed to agree on a formula despite weeks of negotiations, with the stalemate stalling the passage of the County Allocation Revenue Bill.
