Published on August 6, 2020, Akothee has been making headlines for her recent appointment to a regional government-endorsed committee to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic in the Lake Region of Kenya.
As part of the 17-member committee, Akothee will represent Migori county and work alongside other critical actors in the public and private sectors to ensure effective intervention and resource mobilization.
The committee's goal is to cushion the public against the adverse effects of the pandemic and provide a platform for resource and information sharing, learning, and joint actions.
According to a press statement by COG Chairman Hon. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, the committee will be officially launched on August 19, 2020, with the Health CS, Hon. Mutahi Kagwe, in attendance.
