On August 5, 2020, President Yoweri Museveni posted a video on his official Twitter handle, demonstrating his commitment to staying fit at home.

Wearing sporty gear, the 75-year-old head of state jogged barefoot inside a spacious room before performing 40 push-ups, with his grandchildren counting for him.

President Museveni has been encouraging the youth in Uganda to work out from home to reduce the risk of contracting coronavirus.

His efforts have been met with skepticism by some critics, who view them as PR stunts aimed at projecting the president as fit and strong enough to extend his 35-year stay in power.

However, the video has also been seen as a positive message, encouraging Ugandans to prioritize their health and fitness.
