Over 70 patients scheduled for eye surgeries at the Laser Eye Centre are in limbo due to a tenancy row with Sarit Centre.
Dr Mukesh Joshi, the founder of the level four hospital, appeared before the National Assembly's Health committee on Tuesday to express his grief over the treatment his facility has been subjected to by its landlord.
According to Dr Joshi, the hospital's equipment can only be dismantled and reassembled at a new location by specialists from their manufacturers, who are unable to travel due to government restrictions to battle the Covid-19 pandemic.
The dispute between Sarit Centre and Laser Eye Centre has been ongoing, with the hospital suing its landlord in June seeking orders to stop its looming eviction.
High Court judge Samson Okong'o dismissed the hospital's application last week, and the case will be heard at the Court of Appeal next Monday.
The National Assembly has taken interest in the matter, with Sarit Centre managers expected to appear before the Health committee on Thursday virtually.
