On August 5, 2020, Jemima Oresha, a 39-year-old mother of three, tragically drowned while taking pictures at the famous Thomson Falls in Nyahururu town.
Two weeks have passed since the incident, and her body remains unretrieved from the River Ewaso Narok at the bottom of the falls.
Her eldest daughter, Emily Karani, has spoken out about the family's desperate situation, pleading for help to retrieve her mother's body.
"I'm the daughter of Jemima. She came to visit us, and we've been waiting for two weeks since she got lost. We're asking the government to please help us find her body," Emily said.
Emily added, "If there's anyone who can get divers to come and help us retrieve our mother's body, please come and help us. We've tried everything, but we haven't been able to find our mother."
Reminiscing about the last moments with her mother, Emily said, "My mum was very happy when she came to visit us. I didn't know it was to be her last days on earth. I've been left with the other children, and I don't have a job or any income. I'm begging anyone who can help us to help retrieve our mother's body so we can settle our mind and know she's been found."
It's now been 10 days since Jemima's body was lost, and the family remains hopeful that it will be found soon.
