Published on August 5, 2020, the Ministry of Health announced 671 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 23,878.
The new cases were confirmed from a sample size of 6,200 that were taken for testing, with 633 being Kenyans and 38 foreign nationals.
The youngest case is a three-year-old, while the oldest is 94 years old.
Unfortunately, the country has lost three patients due to COVID-19, bringing the total number of fatalities to 391.
On a positive note, 603 patients have recovered from various health facilities in the country, bringing the total number of recoveries to 9,930.
The Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital has installed a 500-bed capacity, with 60 beds allocated for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and High Dependency Unit (HDU).
