On Sunday, August 2, 2020, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho showcased his love for luxury by wearing a Sh188,000 Versace shirt while commissioning the Tudor – Moroto water supply in Mombasa.
The stylish county head was accompanied by comedian Churchill, and the event aimed to benefit up to 15,000 residents in the informal settlement area.
According to Joho, the County Government of Mombasa had sunk six modern boreholes across the county during the pandemic to improve hygiene and sanitation.
However, the focus was on Joho's fashion choice, a silk Versace Barocco SS'91 Silk shirt worth $1,550, which he paired with black jeans, a black cap engraved with his name, and white rubber shoes.
On his website, Versace describes the shirt as 'crafted in the finest quality silk twill featuring the bold Barocco print first seen in Gianni Versace’s FW’91 collection.'
This is not the first time Joho has been spotted in high-end fashion. On Monday, January 6, he was seen wearing a Versace worth Ksh 46,000, and he has also been spotted in a pair of Louis Vuitton sneakers worth Ksh 344, 000, another one worth Ksh 92,000, and a gold watch worth Ksh 23.4 million.
