DCI Arrests Kibra Man Who Broke into High Commissioner's Residence

On August 5, 2020, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives arrested Brian Mbache Libasi, a former security guard, who allegedly broke into a High Commissioner's residence in Kileleshwa and made away with several valuable household items.

According to reports, the daring robbery took place on June 23, 2020, at the High Commissioner's residence in Kileleshwa. The stolen items included two carpets, a gas cooker, a fridge, shoes, bedsheets, curtains, a coffee table, a TV stand, a laptop, and other items.

During the arrest, the DCI detectives recovered all the stolen items, which have been retained as exhibits. The recovered items were part of the household items recovered during the arrest of Brian Mbache Libasi.

Following his arrest, the former security guard will now be arraigned in court on August 5, 2020. The DCI, however, failed to reveal the name of the High Commissioner or the country he represents due to security reasons.

High Commissioners have been a target for crimes, as the Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) detectives apprehended a 34-year-old woman believed to be a terror suspect on August 3, 2020. The woman, Tracy Wairimu Ndegwa, sent two threatening letters to a High Commission in Nairobi on July 31, 2020.
