Manchester City have made a significant move in the transfer market, signing 20-year-old Valencia winger Ferran Torres for 23m euros (£20.87m) on a five-year contract.
The signing marks City's first summer transfer, replacing Germany forward Leroy Sane who left for Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on 3 July.
According to City's director of football Txiki Begiristain, Torres was chosen for his technical qualities, including his speed, directness, and ability to create space with one movement.
“Every player wants to be involved in attacking teams and Manchester City are one of the most attacking in world football,” Torres said in a statement.
“I am so happy to be joining City,” he added.
City have also had a £40m bid for Bournemouth centre-back Nathan Ake accepted.
