Manchester United's hopes of signing Jadon Sancho this summer have been dealt a significant blow after transfer talks with Borussia Dortmund broke down.
According to reports, the two clubs were unable to agree on a price for the 20-year-old winger, with Dortmund valuing him at £110m and Manchester United unwilling to pay more than £80m.
Sancho has been Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's top transfer target this summer, following his impressive performances in the Bundesliga last season.
However, it now appears that the deal is unlikely to happen, with Manchester United considering alternative options, including Aston Villa's Jack Grealish and Ajax's Donny van de Beek.
Manchester United may return to the negotiating table next summer, when the financial implications of the coronavirus crisis may be lessened.
As things stand, the club believes paying more than £100m for a player is 'unrealistic' given the current climate.
