Fulham's remarkable comeback in the Championship play-off final saw them return to the English Premier League after a single season in the second tier. The London side edged out Brentford 2-1 at Wembley on August 5, 2020.
Defender Joe Bryan was the hero of the night, scoring twice in extra time to seal the win. The first goal came in the 105th minute, when Bryan curled a free-kick from 35 yards out into the near post, catching Brentford goalkeeper David Raya off guard.
Henrik Dalsgaard scored a late consolation for Brentford in the 124th minute, but it was too little, too late. Bryan wrapped up the victory for Fulham with three minutes of extra-time left, stroking the ball past Raya from inside the area.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Bryan humbly credited his teammates and the fans for their support throughout the season. 'I'm not the hero, every single one of them, fans and people around us who have been with us all season is,' he said.
