On Monday, a Kenya Defence Forces aircraft crash landed at Dhobley Airstrip in Somalia, but fortunately, no casualties were reported. The aircraft, KAF 128, was taking off to Nairobi when it crash landed.

According to the Kenya Defence Forces, all 10 military personnel on board have been flown to Nairobi and are currently at the Defence Forces Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

The investigating team has already been dispatched to Dhobley to determine the cause of the crash.

It's worth noting that the aircraft had dropped supplies to Kenyan soldiers serving under AMISOM in the war-torn region of Somalia.

The incident comes as Kenya intends to acquire three more Italian-manufactured Spartan aircraft, with the first one already delivered.

Just three months ago, an aircraft registered as African Express crashed in Somalia, killing six on board after it was shot down by Ethiopian soldiers.

Additionally, in July this year, three crew members survived narrowly after a Kenyan aircraft crashed in Somalia, operated by Bluebird Aviation and chartered to UN Humanitarian Services.

Kenyan troops have been in Somalia since 2011 to combat Al-Shabaab militants and secure the Kenyan border with Somalia.
