On August 8-9, 2020, Eliud Kipchoge, the world's greatest marathoner, embarked on a live safari in the Mara to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration. This event marked a significant moment in his role as the Kenya Tourism Board's ambassador, a position he had taken up in July 2020.
As part of his engagement, Kipchoge aimed to promote Kenya as a preferred tourism destination, both locally, regionally, and internationally, through various campaigns. His passion for Kenya was evident in his statement, 'Being Kenyan is a very beautiful thing. I am passionate and love my country dearly. Kenya has a lot to offer, and I urge local and foreign visitors to explore and experience what the country has to offer.'
With his signing as the Kenya Tourism Board's ambassador, Kipchoge aimed to showcase the country's beauty and attractions to the world. This move is expected to boost tourism in Kenya, making it a preferred destination for both local and international visitors.
