On July 25, 2019, Savion Hall, an inmate at the Midland County Jail, died under mysterious circumstances. Nearly a year later, six individuals, including a Kenyan nurse, have been arrested and are facing indictment for their alleged roles in the inmate's death.

Lilian Okeri, a 27-year-old Kenyan nurse, was working as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at the time of the incident. However, she has since obtained her Registered Nurse (RN) license.

According to court documents, the six individuals are accused of failing to maintain proper medical records for Hall, which allegedly led to him not receiving the necessary medical care. The charges also include making false entries on Hall's medical records.

As reported by CBS 7, the investigation into Hall's death was conducted by the Texas Rangers, who were called in to investigate the circumstances surrounding the inmate's death. The case was later presented to the Midland County District Attorney's Office, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, it could not be presented to a Grand Jury until this summer.
