On August 3, 2020, detectives from the Anti-Terror Police Unit apprehended Tracy Wairimu Ndegwa, a 34-year-old woman suspected of terrorism, in Utawala, Nairobi.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the suspect allegedly sent two threatening letters heavily laced with chemicals to a High Commission in Nairobi on July 31.
"One letter was sprayed with an industrial chemical and the other with hay fever pesticides," the DCI tweeted.
The suspect is being held in custody pending arraignment at Kibera Law Courts.
This is not the first time the suspect has been arrested, as she was earlier this year arraigned and charged with another terrorism hoax that targeted the Commissioner-General of the Kenya Prisons Service and released on bail pending another hearing in court.
Anti-Terror Police Unit detectives made the arrest on Monday, August 3.
