Published on August 4, 2020, Pastor Godfrey Migwi of House of Hope Church in Kayole has spoken out against singer Bahati and rapper Khaligraph Jones for disrespecting men of God by wearing bishops' gowns in their music videos.

The pastor's warning comes after Bahati released a song with a secular group wearing a bishop's gown, revealing his stand on gospel music.

"When I am doing a gospel song I'll do it for God, not for the industry. I just separated myself from the gospel industry for a while but I'm in Christ. The Lord is my personal saviour," Bahati said.

However, Pastor Migwi was not impressed, warning Bahati and the rest to stop mocking God, claiming some gospel artistes were just after money and fame.

"I am warning you misguided entertainers, you are attracting curses upon your life and your generations to come, I know you're after fame and money but you're completely lost, mark my words, you better repent and break the curses, God is never mocked, Woe unto you and your generations to come after you Bahati and the one I heard he's called Kaligraph Jones, wearing Bishops gowns is wrong," Pastor Migwi wrote.

He went on to urge Bahati and other gospel players who don't live according to the word to read Daniel 5 and 2 Chronicles 26:16 about King Belshazzar's downfall and Uzziah's story.

Many of Pastor Migwi's followers echoed his sentiments, warning Bahati and the rest of the consequences of disrespecting God.
