As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to spread, the Ministry's Devolution Department has been severely affected, with 18 employees testing positive for the virus.
On August 3, 2020, Principal Secretary Charles Sunkuli ordered all staff to self-isolate for 14 days, effectively bringing operations to a halt for the next two weeks.
The decision was made after a mass testing exercise conducted on 128 samples from the Ministry detected the virus cases.
"The officers will be required to report back on August 17, 2020 for another round of mass testing," Mr Sunkuli stated in an internal memo.
