Denmark to Host Tour de France in 2022

The Danish organisation responsible for planning the start of the Tour de France has announced that the event will now take place in 2022, a year later than initially planned.

The decision was made after French Tour organisers, Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O), agreed to postpone the hosting of the first three days of the tour.

The new start date for the 2022 Tour de France will be July 1-3, 2022.

Mayor of Copenhagen and chairman of Grand Depart Copenhagen Denmark, Frank Jensen, expressed his happiness at securing a Danish tour start in 2022.

"I am happy that we have succeeded in securing a Danish tour start in 2022," Jensen said in a statement.

However, it remains unclear where the 2021 Tour de France will begin.
