Published on August 3, 2020, Reuters reported that Huawei's sales in China contributed significantly to its success in the second quarter of 2020.

According to market trackers, global smartphone shipments fell at the fastest rate on record in the first quarter of 2020, totaling about 275 million in the first three months of the year, a decline of 17% from the same period in 2019.

Despite the challenges, Huawei Technologies Co. generated $65 billion in revenue in the first half of 2020, a 13.1% increase year-over-year, with a net profit margin of 9.2%. The company's carrier, enterprise, and consumer businesses achieved $22.9 billion, $5.2 billion, and $36.7 billion in revenue, respectively.

Meanwhile, Samsung's sales fell 30% due to weak demand in key markets, including Brazil, the United States, and Europe, resulting in a 53.7 million shipment in Q2 2020.
