On August 3, 2020, the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF) imposed a two-year ban and a fine of Tsh8 million on former AFC Leopards coach Luc Eymael.
Eymael, 60, was fired as coach of Tanzania Premier League side Yanga Africans after making racist comments in the media, comparing the club's fans to 'monkeys and dogs.'
According to a statement by the TFF, the disciplinary committee decided to ban Eymael for two years and fine him Tsh8 million for the racist comments.
It remains to be seen if Eymael will ever be offered a coaching job on the continent again after this outburst.
South African Football Coaches Association (Safca) has written to its government seeking to block any application for a work permit from the Belgian coach in future.
Eymael has coached across the African continent at various clubs, including AS Vita, AFC Leopards, Rayon Sports, Al-Masr, Al-Merrikh, and Tala'ea El Gaish.
