On August 1, 2020, Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang picked up the FA Cup trophy after scoring both goals in a 2-1 win over Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.
Arsenal are desperate for Aubameyang to commit his long-term future, and are offering a three-year deal to the Gabonese striker.
Gunners boss Arteta believes he has sold his vision for the future to Aubameyang, building a team that can challenge for honours around the ex-Borussia Dortmund hitman.
Former Arsenal midfielder Perry Groves has weighed in on the situation, saying he would have no issue if Aubameyang was given a £500,000-a-week contract.
“I don't care as an Arsenal fan, and I know we're in difficult financial times, but if they said Aubameyang is on £400,000, £500,000 a week, it wouldn't bother me at all because some players warrant it,” Groves told TalkSPORT.
“Some players warrant it and he does because he delivers. Fans get the hump with players that get a lot of money and don't deliver and don't look like they care.”
