Luc Eymael, the former coach of AFC Leopards, has been banned from football activities in Tanzania for two years by the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF).
The ban was handed down on August 3, 2020 after Eymael made derogatory remarks about the TFF, his former club Yanga, and Tanzanian football fans in general.
According to reports, Eymael made the remarks after Yanga's 1-0 win over Lipuli last week.
"The pitches in Tanzania are really bad, they are not even what we have in the seventh division in Europe. This is not for me. The officiating too is very pathetic and always against Yanga. I don’t have a car, no DSTV connection, no WiFi, please just let me go away," Eymael ranted.
He also claimed that the fans know nothing about soccer and are always shouting like monkeys, and that the TFF works to the favor of Simba.
Despite later apologizing for the remarks, Eymael was sacked by Yanga and has now been banned from football activities in Tanzania for two years and fined Tsh 8 million (approximately Sh370,000).
