Confessions: Why are Kenyan women so difficult to handle? ¶
Published on August 3, 2020
A 37-year-old man who moved back to Kenya after 18 years abroad has sparked a heated debate on social media with his confessions about Kenyan women.
According to the man, who wishes to remain anonymous, Kenyan women are 'difficult to handle' and 'always complaining, always nagging and never satisfied.'
He claims that women from other parts of Africa are 'easier to please' compared to Kenyan women, and has even threatened to 'outsource higher quality replacements from abroad' if Kenyan women do not 'improve.'
However, his comments have been met with fierce backlash from Kenyan women and men, who argue that his views are stereotypical and unfair.
One reader, Nicodemus Momanyi, advised the man to 'treat them with warmth, respect and appreciation' and 'discover that that woman is easy to handle.'
Another reader, Onyango Outha, reminded the man that 'women or ladies behave differently depending on time, situations and circumstances.'
Relationship counselor Simon Anyona also weighed in, advising the man to 'work on his attitude and perceptions about Kenyan women' and 'not bring his hang-ups from the women he met in the course of globe-trotting to the women in Kenya.'
Kenyan women, including Hilda Boke Mahare, a background in Counselling Psychology, have also responded to the man's comments, urging him to be 'fair in his judgment' and 'not label the women cocky.'
As the debate continues, one thing is clear: Kenyan women are not 'difficult to handle' - they are simply human beings with their own unique personalities, needs and expectations.
